What is the Financial Modeling Institute?

 

The Financial Modeling Institute (FMI) was founded in 2017 with the goal of “Promoting awareness, excellence and discipline in Financial Modeling through world-class accreditation programs”.

The Financial Modeling Institute (FMI) focuses on assessment, leaving the delivery of training to independent and proven partners like us at Full Stack Modeller.

 

What are the FMI certification levels?

The Financial Modeling Institute (FMI) has three certification levels. These are: Advanced Financial Modeler (AFM); Chartered Financial Modeler (CFM); and Master Financial Modeler (MFM).

   

 

When do the FMI exams take place?

Financial Modeling Institute (FMI) exam timings vary depending by level:

  • The Advanced Financial Modeler (AFM) exams are typically in February, May, July, and October.
  • The Chartered Financial Modeler (CFM) exam is once a year, typically in October.
  • The Master Financial Modeler (MFM) is awarded annually via an application process.

What is the cost of the Financial Modeling Institute (FMI) exams?

The Advanced Financial Modeler (AFM) and Chartered Financial Modeler (CFM) exams cost $695 each to sit.

 

Does the Financial Modeling Institute (FMI) offer scholarships?

Yes. FMI offers scholarships based on financial need for first-time AFM candidates. Applications for FMI scholarships can be made for any open AFM exam up to three months before the exam date.

The scholarship entitles the awardee up to a 50% discount on the standard AFM exam fee.
