What is the CFM qualification?

 

The Financial Modeling Institute Chartered Financial Modeler (CFM) qualification is a financial modelling accreditation designed to showcase the modeller's problem-solving and creativity in relation to real-world modelling scenarios.

To be successful in the CFM qualification the financial modeller must demonstrate their ability to apply their financial modelling skills to various complex, real-world scenarios.

 

What is the format of the Chartered Financial Modeler (CFM) exam?

The CFM exam is a tough, proctored, four-hour online exam. You are provided with a selection of three financial modelling problems, two of which you must solve within the four-hour time limit.


To be successful in the CFM exam you must have a strong Excel modelling toolkit and be able to apply those skills in real-world financial modelling scenarios.
