What is the AFM qualification?
The Financial Modeling Institute Advanced Financial Modeler (AFM) qualification is a financial modelling accreditation designed to prove a modeller’s knowledge and skills.
In order to be successful in the AFM qualification the financial modeller must demonstrate that they are able to build a fully-integrated three-statement model in line with best practice concepts. As such the AFM exam demonstrates your detailed knowledge of finance, accounting, and Excel.
What is the Format of the Advanced Financial Modeler (AFM) exam?

The AFM exam is a tough, proctored, four-hour online exam. You are provided with a case study and must build a three-statement model of a company from scratch.
When are the FMI AFM exams?

The AFM exams take place four times a year, typically in February, May, July and October.
How much does the FMI AFM exam cost?
The Advanced Financial Modeler (AFM) exams cost $695.
Does the Financial Modeling Institute (FMI) offer scholarships?
Yes. FMI offers scholarships based on financial need for first-time AFM candidates. Applications for FMI scholarships can be made for any open AFM exam up to three months before the exam date.
The scholarship entitles the awardee up to a 50% discount on the standard AFM exam fee.
